Welcome To Happy Camper Cocktail Co
Happy Camper Cocktail Co. is a site dedicated to people who make large volumes of craft cocktails. Whether you're doing them on draft, in bottles, jugs, punch bowls, or olympic swimming pools, I don't care. But if you make your drinks by the hundred or thousand, I hope to help you up your game and save you a lot of time and money in the process.
I will be both sourcing and creating my own ingredients, hardware, and consumables for bars everywhere. Every product I sell will be what I use. I won't sell ten brands of regulators, just the couple I actually like. I won't sell a single ingredient or part I wouldn't use myself.
A little about me: I started with a mobile bar in 2015. It is built into a 1972 Airstream.
The original plan was to do a regular craft cocktail bar on wheels. We'd have bartenders shaking and straining classic cocktails. There were only going to be a couple taps for draft beer and nothing else.
Then two things happened. One was I heard, on my favorite podcast, the host say the phrase "carbonated negroni". Being a long-time homebrewer, I had all of the equipment needed to happen. I knew my way around a draft system, at least a little bit.
The other was I did the math. I added up how much water I'd need for washing all of the shakers and barware. I added up how much weight that would put on the axle. I timed how long it took to make one drink, then did the math on how long that initial line of 150 wedding guests would take to get through. It was ugly. I needed another way.
At the time kegging cocktails was pretty primitive. I went to a seminar on it at Tales of the Cocktail that gave a few good ideas but was overall not very enlightening. I started digging through scientific literature, figuring out how to do things like make lime juice taste good for days (turns out that was the wrong question to ask, but we'll talk lots here about citrus) or get shaken drink texture out of a keg. How to keep my stuff from stratifying, etc.
I did test batches of drinks and had friends over to rate them. One night we went through hundreds of samples Moscow Mules of dozens of different variations of Ginger Beer. That got refined over the years into what is now my Ginger Beer Syrup. I experimented with carbonation, alternative acids, commercially-sourced distillates and ingredients. I've purchased almost every draft system component known to man and tested it out. My employees probably get sick of things changing so much, but I am always on the lookout for new improvements.
And now I'm turning many of the ingredients I've been using to make my most popular drinks into syrups anyone can use. You can make the same Ginger Beer I do. You can make my Blueberry Collins and Blackberry Mojito and Strawberry Jalapeno Margarita. It's all there for you.
I am also going one by one through all the hardware I use and sourcing them for you. You'll know that everything you buy here will be what I've used in the field, often for several years.
I don't endeavor to sell everything. But I will sell all the best components and I'll even have videos explaining how to use them. My sincere hope is that at the end of the day, you find the process of making and serving large batches of top-quality drinks enjoyable.
And, as always, please use our contact form if you need a recommendation, have a question, or just want to tell me what cool new recipe you've created with our ingredients!
